Rahul Dravid, popularly called "The Wall", is one of the most respected players in Indian Cricket.
This is one player whom I admire a lot for the resilience with which he came back to the Indian team everytime he was dropped and performed even when the critics n fans panned him for his slow playing style...
I also love some of his shots especially the cut shot n cover drive he plays against the spinners.... 

Dravid is a very simple n genuine person who always keeps his personal life away from his cricket career. He has a very sweet family of four. Dravid married Dr.Vijeta Pendharkar in 2003 and they have two cute sons - Samit and Anvay (who was born early this year).

Atlast good news - India beat Sri Lanka to seal the ODI series with one match to spare.... with a sparkling century from Gambhir and Virat Kohli's maiden ODI century.
And guys.... today being 25th Dec.... Merry Christmas to all you folks...

"WAGs" is a term commonly used to represent "Wives And Girlfriends" of soccer players in England and slowly started spreading to other sports. Now its a more common terminology used to represent the wives n girlfriends from cricket n many other sports too.

I hope you would have enjoyed my recent series started on the Cricketer WAGs. Actually, this series is more about popular cricketer's family than just their wives n girlfriends.

Till now, I had posted about the Australian Cricketer WAGs and today its time for a popular Indian cricketer and his family - Virender Sehwag, wife Aarti Ahlawat and son Aryavir

Brett Lee, Liz Kemp and son Preston : Cricketer WAGs

The Australian fast bowler Brett Lee is a famous cricketer all around the world especially in India. He does have a lot of fan following here in India which helped him get lots of advertisements n endorsements in India.
I'm sure many of you would know that Brett Lee plays the Guitar very well and with his brother Shane Lee, and his friends, they have a band called Six & Out

His personal life has been under public scanner of late. Brett Lee married Elizabeth Kemp (aka Liz Kemp) and they both have a baby boy called Preston. But after two years of marriage, they got separated last year.

Adam Gilchrist - one of my all time favourite cricketers is and will always be respected for the way he conducted on and off the field.

Gautam Gambhir - Top Cricketer of India in 2009

Gambhir's exemplary performance in Tests and ODIs for India in the year 2009 has earned him two top awards this year...

First, the ICC's Award...

Dhoni & Team India - Number 1 Test Cricket Nation :)

Three cheers to our Indian Cricket Team.... Hip Hip Hurray.... We've got the rank of Number 1 Test cricketing nation today after defeating the Sri Lankan team 2-0 in the test series in India....

Lots of positives to take away from this series...

• The batting of Indian top order - Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, Dhoni, Yuvraj and even Vijay in the last test.... all of them contributed..
• The bowling improved after the first test match... with the changes brought in by Dhoni in the test match worked well with Sreesanth and Ojha playing well.... Zaheer and Harbhajan were very good in the last test match too...
• According to Dhoni, even the fielding was better in this series...
• Also the coaching staffs - Gary Kirsten and Paddy Upton got a special mention from Sachin, Sehwag and Dhoni...
  

Two Important Turning points were:

• Definitely Virender Sehwag's swashbuckling innings of 293 runs in the third test match
• Sreesanth's 5 wicket haul in the second test match

One point to be noted is this time both the batsmen and bowlers contributed to the victory. We got our 100th Test victory in the second match and with the victory in the third test match against Sri Lanka, we also got the #1 rank in Test Cricket.
