De Villiers engaged to girlfriend Danielle Swart in Taj Mahal

South African ODI cricket captain AB De Villiers got engaged to his girlfriend Danielle Swart in the beautiful Taj Mahal earlier this month.

De Villiers shared the good news on Twitter, saying: "Got engaged to the girl of my dreams, Danielle Swart, at the Taj Mahal 2 days ago. It was an amazing experience! Will share some pics soon."

De Villiers, who took over the reins as the Proteas' ODI and T20 captain from Graeme Smith last year, asked Swart to marry him in front of the Taj Mahal in India.

Letitia Greyling, De Villiers's agent, has confirmed the engagement.
"AB asked Danielle on Sunday in India to marry him and she said yes. He is very happy."

The couple met each other about six years ago on Swart's father's lodge outside Bela-Bela (Warmbaths).
Although they've remained close friends since then, their love only blossomed about a year ago.

The Indian star pace bowler had first met Isha Sharvani in 2005 after her Bollywood debut in Subhash Ghai's flop movie Kisna. After dating for a couple of years, Zaheer and Isha split. But Zaheer got back together with Isha Sharvani in 2010 and its been going strong as per the reports.

According to reports, Zaheer and Isha's marriage is likely to happen in March. But the final decision will be taken once Zaheer Khan returns from the current Australian tour. There are also reports that if they don't marry in March, then they might tie the knot in October.
Despite repeated attempts, Isha and Zaheer remained unavailable for comment.

Wishes for this lovely couple... I would definitely like them to settle down.... :)

Ding ding... wedding bells ringing in the Indian Cricket team.. Guess you all might have learnt for whom this bell was rung..... yes our own chocolate-boy Gautam Gambhir got married to Delhi-ite Natasha Jain... on 28th October, 2011 at Westend Farm on the Delhi-Gurgaon road.

Indian cricket team’s star batsman Gautam Gambhir, 30, tied the knot with Natasha Jain, 27, in a traditional ceremony in Gurgaon on Friday evening. Fans and media were actually kept away from the venue during the nuptials, after which the couple stepped out for a short photo op.
The couple was expected to leave for their honeymoon in Maldives yesterday.

Gambhir wore a beige kurta pyjama for the wedding ceremony and later for the reception changed to a black knee-length fusion style ensemble. Natasha wore a heavily embellished red lehenga designed by Delhi designer, Tarun Tahiliani.

Anil Kumble retirement pictures...

The post about retirement of the world's highest wicket taker Muttiah Muralitharan prompted me to do another post on the Indian legend leg spinner Anil Kumble

Nick-named Jumbo, Anil Kumble's contribution to Indian cricket is one that many wouldn't forget.
Kumble, the third most successful bowler in test history with 619 wickets, announced his retirement at the end of the third test against Australia on November 2nd, 2008.

The then skipper - Anil Kumble announced his retirement after the third Test against Australia, quitting the game at his favourite Ferozshah Kotla ground.

He is currently the leading wicket-taker for India in both Test and One Day International matches. He still captains the Bangalore Royal Challengers in IPL

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the person who took the captaincy from Anil Kumble after the latter's retirement carries Kumble for the last honour lap

 Kumble was known to be a humble and intelligent person and was widely respected too.  He is married to Chetana and has three kids.

Anil Kumble is one of only two bowlers ever (the other being Jim Laker) to have taken all 10 wickets in a Test innings. Kumble achieved this against Pakistan in the second Test played in Delhi between 4 February and 8 February 1999. It was an amazing feat and one that I saw live in Television :)

Kumble is also remembered for his tenacity in bowling even when injured, especially after an incident in a match against West Indies where, despite having his broken jaw being heavily taped, he came back to get the wicket of Brian Lara.
