Brothers in Cricket - 1: Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan

Today, I'm gonna start a new series of pictures featuring cricketing brothers - brothers who've played cricket together at some point of time in their careers...

I'll start with our own Indian big hitting cricket brothers - The Pathan brothers - Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan


The Pathan brothers Yusuf and Irfan Pathan grew up in a mosque in Baroda, in an impoverished family. His father served as the muezzin.


Younger brother Irfan Pathan started early in the Indian team as a fast bowler but then slowly became an all rounder. But, poor bowling form led to him being dropped from the Indian test and ODI team.


Slowly, Yusuf Pathan took over the scene when he burst into the Indian ODI and T20 team with his power hitting in IPL.


Currently, both these brothers are out of the team and going through a rough patch.


But, I hope they work hard and come back in a great style.
Here is wishing both these brothers good success in future with the Indian cricket team.

Irfan Pathan - A Kiss to Miss :)

Cricketer Irfan Pathan had an awkward time when a girl, who came on stage to collect a prize, suddenly jumped to kiss him!!!

Here is the video of the Kiss to miss for Irfan Pathan.... I guess Shivangi Dev, Irfan's fiancee will be proud of the choice she made ;)

The young girl could not succeed in her attempt, as the tall & youthful Pathan just pushed her aside and proved too tall for her to approach his cheeks (probably Shivangi was in his mind :D)

“I didn’t plan anything. I just wanted to touch him and after that whatever happened … all of you have seen. Yes, I was asking lot of things… I was asking about Shivani and I was asking about him …and something else as well…. no I can’t tell you that… I just wanted to touch him ….I am very happy,” said Shabina Khatoon, the Kolkata girl.

The incident occurred during an event hosted by Tata Indicom. Irfan Pathan, the brand ambassador of Tata Indicom was present at the event accompanied by his elder brother Yusuf Pathan, who was busy signing Autographs & didn't even understand what was going on :)
They were distributing prizes to winners at the event organised when Shabina, who claims to be a die hard fan of Irfan Pathan tried her luck...

Irfan is all set to marry his long time girlfriend Shivangi Dev very soon....

The news is that Irfan Pathan the allrounder has another credit to his name!! He is all set to marry Shivangi Dev.


The two first met in March 2003 during a match in Adelaide Oval and it was a 'love at first sight' !!!!

The beautiful lass is a beauty with brains, a Chartered Accountant who is also a dance instructor in Canberra, Australia. Daughter of a diplomat, Virendra Dev attached to the Indian embassy in Australia.



She has been a support for him ever since, in Jan 2007 she was seen cheering for her man in Vadodara during a Ranji Trophy match and their names have been linked together ever since.

The news of the very well matched couple became national news with Irfan's parents accepting their son's choice.
As for Shivangi's doting dad, he had invited Irfan for dinner in 2003 and since then the chemistry has never lost its charm.


Here is wishing this all rounder and his beautiful girl a life full of happiness all around.
